The formation of the KZN South Snooker League has given snooker in southern Kwa-Zulu Natal a huge boost.
Margate Country Club is now an affiliated snooker league venue for a sport that is quickly growing in popularity.

Thanks to the vision and efforts of KwaZulu Natal Snooker League player Selvin Moodley, Margate Country Club undertook alterations of the main building in order to facilitate a second table as well as seating for spectators. Both tables have been totally refurbished and are the same standard as the match play tables at Qmasters Centre Durban. Also very exciting is that Qmasters are in the process of starting a Pro-circuit for Snooker in South Africa.

The good news for the South Coast is that the South African Cue Sports Federation, together with the South African Snooker and Billiards Association, have decided that this area can affiliate directly to them as a district.

The current league which has weekly fixtures, has a mixture of experienced snooker players as well as some inexperienced youngsters. During this season which ends in December 2019 the players will also be playing a Doubles and Singles Club Championship.
